The Voluntary Vehicle-Fleet Modernization Programme (V-VMP) was launched in April 2022 under the Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Rules, 2021. Old / unfit vehicles can be surrendered at Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSF), earning a Certificate of Deposit (CoD) which qualifies for tax rebate on a new vehicle purchase.
